  1. Georgia leaders, including Governor Brian Kemp and Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock, have expressed strong condemnation regarding an anti-Semitic protest outside a synagogue in Cobb County. Demonstrators were seen waving Nazi flags, prompting widespread outrage. Governor Kemp emphasized the need to reject hate and anti-Semitism in the state. 2. Georgia State University's Georgia Policy Lab has received $1.85 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Education to conduct a study on the effects of remote learning on K-12 student outcomes. The research will investigate why certain students performed better than others in remote learning environments during the pandemic and evaluate the impact of school districts' recovery strategies on student outcomes. The study aims to provide valuable insights to education agencies and guide future research as remote learning continues to play a significant role in education. (Daily Citizen)
  3. After completing their shift and K-9 training, Deputy Lucas-Dykstra and her partner K9 Athos were heading home when they received a call to track a missing 10-year-old who had run away from home. Working together with Cobb police and morning watch deputies, Lucas-Dykstra and K9 Athos swiftly joined the search effort. Within 10 minutes, K9 Athos successfully located the boy hiding in bushes. Following their accomplishment, the sheriff's office granted Lucas-Dykstra and K9 Athos a day off on Sunday, hoping they would have a chance to rest. (WSB Atlanta)
