Part of Ward Street Closed For Construction Beginning Wednesday
The impacted section will be closed for about two-and-a-half weeks.

One of Ward Street’s northbound lanes will be closed beginning Wednesday while contractors continue work on the Belmont Hills Connector Road.
Smyrna’s Public Works Director Scott Stokes said the closure will begin where the connector road meets Ward Street and continue northward about 500 feet. He estimated that the lane will be closed for about two-and-a-half weeks while contractors install roadway storm drainage.
“This should reduce the amount of time needed for the future temporary road closure of Ward Street during the construction of the roundabout,” he said.
