Here are the top three stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:

  1. The Riverline Park Splash Pad is still in the works! City Council approved an additional $1.2 million from the General Fund reserves for the project because geo-hydro testing showed the initial location would be too costly. Pond and City staff have since redesigned the splash pad for the opposite side of the Riverview Park driveway and received approval for the plan. You can view the splash pad agenda packet here. (Cobb County Courier)
  2. The Cobb County International Festival in nearby Marietta is looking for volunteers and vendors! The festival’s goal is to celebrate and bring food, music, and art from across the globe to the Cobb County community. Jim Miller Park Event Center will be hosting the event on Aug. 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. but the deadline for vendor applications is Jul. 14. You can find the list of applications for volunteers, food vendors, cultural performers, and art here. (Cobb County, Georgia - Gov)
  3. The Mountain View Regional Library and the Georgia Holocaust Commission are hosting a Response to the Holocaust: Survivors and Liberators Exhibit. Learn about the history and experiences of Georgia citizens who survived through the Holocaust and World War II. The exhibit will be on display at the Mountain View Regional Library until Jun. 26 and is recommended for ages 18 and up. (Cobb County, Georgia - Gov)
