What’s Open, Closed For Presidents Day 2022 In Smyrna, Vinings

The Monday holiday will result in closures and schedule changes in and around Smyrna-Vinings.

SMYRNA-VININGS, GA — With the Presidents Day holiday on Monday, many workers and students in Smyrna and Vinings will get a long weekend.

George Washington’s Birthday is Feb. 22, but the federally-observed Presidents Day/George Washington Day falls on the third Monday in February.

Government offices, schools and other services will be closed on Feb. 21, while other services like trash pickup and transit may have schedule changes. Below are the openings and closings to know in Smyrna and Vinings.

  • Cobb County government offices and courts: Open Monday.
  • Smyrna city offices: Open Monday.
  • Cobb County Public Library System: All branches will be open for normal hours Monday, Feb. 21.
  • Cobb County School District: CCSD students and staff are on winter break from Feb. 21-Feb. 25.
  • Smyrna garbage pickup: For residents within the city of Smyrna’s city limits, trash pickup will take place as normal.
  • Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA): All schedules will run as normal.
  • Post offices: This is a federal holiday so all USPS post offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 21. Regular mail and packages will not be delivered or sent.
  • Banks: Most banks will be closed Monday.
