Robbery Suspect Dead, 1 Injured In DeKalb Gas Station Shooting: Police
A shootout broke out when police say a 19-year-old man tried to rob another man at a DeKalb County gas station.
LITHONIA, GA — Police say a deadly gunfight broke out after one man tried to rob another man around 7:30 p.m. Monday at a gas station in the 6400 block of Covington Highway.
DeKalb County Police on Tuesday accused 19-year-old Tristyn Mays of attempting to rob an unidentified man at the gas station. Police said this led to a shootout between the duo.
The man then ran from the scene and was found with a gunshot wound in a Cove Lane neighborhood behind the gas station, police said. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Mays, however, died of his injuries, police said. Charges will not be pressed against the man who was hospitalized, police said.
