Fire At Batavia Business Under Investigation: Fire Department
Batavia Fire Department said crews could see smoke coming from the building when they arrived to the scene late Tuesday night.
BATAVIA, IL — Batavia Fire Department crews responded to an activated alarm for a building fire at Mat Masters at 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Paramount Parkway, according to a release from the department. Smoke was seen coming from the unoccupied building when fire department units arrived to the scene, according to the release. The fire was controlled within 20 minutes, as the sprinkler system extinguished the fire, the department reported.
The department said no injuries were reported, and the fire remains under investigation.
Batavia fire crews were assisted by auto aide companies, and several fire departments including St. Charles, Geneva, North Aurora, and Fermi Lab, according to the release.
