Man Charged With Drunk Driving In Lisle, Had Young Son In Car: Police
Thaddeus Thompson, 38, had his 5-year-old son in his car when he was pulled over Sunday and police say they also found pot in the vehicle.
LISLE, IL — A 38-year-old Chicago man faces aggravated drunk driving and drug charges after he was arrested in Lisle on Sunday when officers found the man’s 5-year-old son in the car at the time of the traffic stop, police said.
Thaddeus Tobias Thompson was arrested after police said he failed to obey a traffic signal just after 1:15 a.m. on Sunday in the 4400 block of Route 53, police said. Police said that Thompson showed signs of impairment when he was stopped. He was taken into custody, but police said that before the car was towed, Thompson’s car was searched.
The search turned up about 100 grams of marijuana, police said, as well as an open container of alcohol. Police said that a records search also indicated that Thompson’s driver’s license is currently revoked due to a prior DUI arrest.

Thompson had a blood alcohol content level of more than 0.08 and was also charged with endangering the life of a child, unlawful possession of marijuana, and disobeying a traffic device as well as the DUI charge. The child was not injured and was turned over to a family member, police said.
Thompson was taken to the DuPage County Jail and is awaiting a court hearing.
