New Interim Police Chief Named In Lisle
James R. Kruger was appointed during the Aug. 19 village board meeting in Lisle.

LISLE, IL — A new temporary police chief has been appointed for the Village of Lisle. James R. Kruger's appointment was unanimously approved at Monday's village board meeting.
Kruger comes to the Lisle Police Department after having retired from his role as the East Dundee Police Chief last year. Prior to his retirement, Kruger served worked for BluePoint Alert Solutions as their director of law enforcement relations. Throughout his 40-year law enforcement career, he also worked for police departments in Carpentersville, Winfield, Roselle and Oak Brook.
Before becoming a police officer, Kruger earned his bachelor's degree in management and leadership at Judson University, along with a master’s degree in managerial leadership from National-Louis University.

“Chief Kruger’s significant and well-respected experience during his four decades career with suburban law enforcement agencies makes him uniquely qualified to steward the Lisle Police Department until a permanent Chief is selected,” Lisle Mayor Christopher Pecak said in a news release.
Pecak added, “He has been a highly-effective leader in the DuPage public safety community, and I want to thank him for his willingness to accept this appointment.”

Kruger said, "I appreciate the confidence Mayor Pecak and the Village Board have in me and appreciate the opportunity to help the Lisle Police Department move forward. Lisle is a great place, and I am excited to be returning, on an interim basis, to the DuPage County law enforcement community."
Kruger's appointment as interim chief comes after Kevin Licko resigned as police chief of Lisle. Licko had been placed on administrative leave following the filing of an employee complaint, per village documents. Licko's resignation took effect April 29. His retirement will begin Oct. 1.
