Timeline: How Koch Acquired Lisle’s Molex
According to the Chicago Tribune, the process to the $7.2 billion deal began in early 2013 when the company began seeking a buyer.

A timeline of the events that led to the $7.2 billon acquisition of Lisle’s Molex Inc. by Koch Industries Inc. has been assembled by the Chicago Tribune (and distributed through MCT Information Services.)
According to the paper, Molex’s co-chairman first decided to sell the company at the beginning of 2013, and after contacting 17 bidders, the company began discussions with Koch on July 15.
Following that, events progressed quickly, with representatives from the two companies meeting on July 23 and Aug. 5, a sale price near $38.50 per share agreed on by Aug. 5, Koch attending Molex presentations on Aug. 19 and 20 and six parties (Koch, Latham & Watkins, Molex, Dentons, William Blair and BDT) coming together in Chicago from Sept. 3-5, the paper said.
