3 People Homeless From Palatine Fire That Kills Cat
No one was hurt in the Labor Day home blaze in the village.

PALATINE, IL — A residential fire left three people without a home Monday in Palatine. No one was hurt in the incident, but a pet cat did die from the blaze, according to the Daily Herald.
Village firefighters responded to a call just after 4 p.m. of a fire in the 2100 block of North Westmoreland Drive, the report stated. It took about a half hour to control the blaze, but that was enough time to leave the home uninhabitable, the report added.
Although the call to the Palatine Fire Department had indicated that lightning was responsible, authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, the Herald reports. (Get real-time Patch email alerts and daily newsletters for Palatine.)
