• Aldermen Urge Compromise As Church's Gym Project Moves Forward (journal-topics.com) — Rolling Meadows aldermen have approved annexing the remaining portion of St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church property out of Palatine and advanced a special-use request for a new gym, daycare, and retreat center. Nearby residents from Plum Grove Estates raised concerns about flooding, traffic, tree protection, and overnight lodging, while church leaders highlighted safety, youth programming, and extensive traffic and stormwater studies. Officials urged both sides to seek compromise before a final January vote.
