PALATINE, IL -- Curbside brush collection is scheduled for the first full week of February, beginning this coming Monday.
The Feb. 5 pickup is set to start at 7 a.m. It will be for unbundled brush and does not include bagged leaves or brush at this time, officials said, in a community alert.
All brush must be unbundled and no larger than 8 inches in diameter to accommodate chipper. Additionally, it must have the cut end facing toward the street.

Residents may also dispose of their Christmas trees, provided they're stripped of all lights and ornaments. Only cleaned trees will be accepted.
Firewood, tree stumps and root balls will not be accepted because of the potential damage it may cause to the chipper. Crews will pass down each street once, and residents are asked to be patient. If the amount of brush is excessive or there is inclement weather, it may take the entire week to finish the initial collection.
