• House Blaze Fought By 28 Firefighters: Palatine FD (patch.com) — Palatine residents may have noticed a major emergency response Monday evening, when 28 firefighters from Palatine and neighboring departments battled a basement fire on North Oak Street. Everyone inside, including two dogs, escaped safely as crews contained flames that spread into the walls and attic. Officials are investigating the accidental blaze and reminding residents to maintain working smoke detectors in their homes.
