D15 Adding Secure Vestibules, Summer Construction Underway
The vestibules include modifications of a school's front entrance to ensure visitors pass through the main office before the main building.

PALATINE, IL — District 15 announced Monday that construction projects are underway, including work on new secular vestibules planned for several schools, including Walter R. Sundling. According to a recent message from Community Consolidated School District 15 Superintendent Laurie Heinz, summer construction projects also include an HVAC project, roofing, flooring, and playground enhancements.
The new secure vestibules will include modifications of the front entrance of a school to ensure visitors pass through the main office before getting into the rest of the school building, according to Community Consolidated School District 15.
Last summer, secure vestibule construction was completed at five buildings, and the board committed to completing the secure vestibules this summer at the remaining buildings — Lincoln, Central Road, Frank C. Whiteley, Walter R. Sundling, Stuart R. Paddock and Marion Jordan.
