Deceased 84-Year-Old Mother, Son Sustained Gunshot Wounds: Palatine PD
An investigation is ongoing after the two were found dead Friday night at an apartment.
PALATINE, IL — The relationship of two people found dead in an apartment last week has been revealed. Palatine police said Monday Karen Zincke, 84, and her son, David Zincke, 57, had sustained gunshot wounds. A firearm was discovered at the scene.
Police were called to the apartment in the 1000 block of North Sterling Avenue at around 9:26 p.m. Friday, for an ambulance assist, when they discovered the two were deceased.
The investigation remains ongoing pending the final determination by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office regarding the official cause and manner of death, according to police.

Following a preliminary investigation and evidence collected at the scene, police said there is no indication of any threat to the public.
