District 15 Reopening Plan Includes 2 Enrollment Choices
District 15 fall 2020 enrollment choices include in-person instruction with health and safety modifications, or full-time distance learning.
PALATINE, IL — Parents with students who attend Community Consolidated School District 15 schools are asked to make enrollment decisions by July 20, instead of July 17 as originally announced. Last week, the Community Consolidated School District 15 Board of Education announced final plans for reopening schools for the 2020-2021 school year. The district's Return to Learn 2020-21 Reopening Plan includes two paths, or choices, parents can select from when enrolling their children, according to the district website:
Option 1) In-person instruction with health and safety modifications/state-mandated safety guidelines —
- Face coverings required for students, staff and visitors
- Increased building sanitation
- No more than 50 people in a room or bus
- Symptom screening for students and staff

Option 2) Full-time distance learning; instructional and technical expectations —
- 1:1 Chromebooks
- Live, virtual instruction
- Grade-level cohorts formed district-wide
- Commitment for full year or until Phase 5; "Exceptions made for major life events"
