District 211 To Kick Off School Year With Hybrid Reopening Plan

Superintendent Small said 50 percent of students will be in-person for the week and the other 50% will connect to the classroom from home.

PALATINE, IL — In an email to parents Wednesday, Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 Superintendent Lisa Small said students and staff will start the new school year with a hybrid scenario plan. While all students will connect from home to the classroom Thursday and Friday, Aug. 13 and 14, the hybrid scenario will begin Monday, Aug. 17, during which 50 percent of students will be in-person for the week and the other 50% of students connecting to the classroom from home, according to the letter.

"I am pleased to be able to offer this schedule for our students as two-thirds of both our parent and student survey respondents requested in-person instruction," Small said, in the letter.

The two groups will trade places on alternating weeks, however, Small reminded parents that they have the daily option to have their child connect to the classroom from home rather than go to school every other week.
