Don't Miss Out On 2020 Hometown Pride Awards Nominations

Nominations for the 2020 Hometown Pride Awards​ in Palatine will be accepted until July 24.

PALATINE, IL — The Village of Palatine Beautification Commission is accepting nominations for the 2020 Hometown Pride Awards. The awards honor residential and business properties in Palatine that "display attractive landscaping and exceptional curb appeal," the village said, in a news release. Residents may nominate any property, a neighbor, a subdivision entrance, a multi-family residence, business or their property, according to the village.

According to the commission, only the front of properties visible from the street will be evaluated, and criteria includes overall appearance, design, maintenance, color and diversity.

  • Single Family Home
  • Multi-Family Home
  • Subdivision Entrance/Cul-de-sac Island
  • Business
  • "Doors of Palatine" (Decorative front entrances of residential buildings that would include plantings, statuaries, pots and potted plants, etc.)

Nominations for the 2020 Hometown Pride Awards will be accepted until July 24, and should include the nomination form found on the Village's website, and one, 4" by 6" photograph taken within the last 30 days. To be entered in the competition, simply fill out the form and enclose the photograph, and mail or drop off to the Public Works Department c/o Hometown Pride Awards, 148 W. Illinois Avenue, Palatine, IL, 60067.

Judging will take place on July 27, and all those recognized will be notified by mail shortly thereafter.
