Where does this school hero work?

CCSD #15 Palatine

Please describe why this individual is a hero at your school.

Kathy has worked for District 15 in Palatine for over 40 years. She started out as a bus assistant, then became a bus driver. Her next step was being the school district's dispatcher. She has been in this position for at least 25 years. She has had over 135 buses to watch over. That's a lot of routes to cover when you have so many schools to cover. She has done everything that's involved in transportation. Routing, driving, bus evacuation training, arrange the field-trips. She's the girl that can and will do anything to help out the team. She is also a great friend to many of the drivers and assistants when they just need to talk to someone.

How do you know the school hero you’re nominating?

I use to work with Kathy as a driver/trainer. I left District 15 but Kathy has always been there for me.

What should your community know about this person?

Kathy is one of the people who answers the parents calls when their child's bus is late. She also helps anyone in the district that needs help with transportation.
