Election 2020 Early Voting, Sign Regulations In Palatine

Here's when early voting will take place in Palatine.

PALATINE, IL — Early voting kicks off Monday in Palatine and across Cook County. According to the Village of Palatine, early voting will take place (in Palatine) at 150 W. Wilson Street.

Early voting will run Monday through Nov. 2, with voting hours of 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. According to the village, a secure ballot drop box will be located at the early voting location (150 W. Wilson St.) and will be available only during early voting hours.

Polls on Election Day (Nov. 3) will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Mail Ballot Applications for the Nov. 3 Election are available at Village Hall. You can also apply for a Mail Ballot online at the Cook County Clerk website, the village said.

Options for voter registration continue through Election Day, according to the village.

The village reminds residents, campaign staff and volunteers that there is a political sign regulations in effect. Signs posted within public right-of-way are permitted up to three days (72 hours) before Election Day and will be removed within 24 hours after the election (installed no earlier than Oct. 31 and be removed by Nov. 4). Signs posted on private (non-residential) property are permitted no more than 30 days before Election Day and will be removed within 48 hours after the Election. The village added that restrictions do not apply to signs on private residential property.

In addition, according to the village:

  • Permission of the property owner should be obtained before placing any signs on private property.
  • All political signs shall not exceed 8 square feet in area and be limited to a maximum height of 4 feet.
  • Signs shall provide a minimum setback from any curb, shoulder or sidewalk.The Village will remove any signs that do not comply with regulations or that create safety issues for pedestrians and motorists.
