Whatever camp you belong to, the one part about Labor Day everyone can agree on is that it's a federal holiday. And even if you don't have the day off, the holiday can still have an effect on your week. Here's a look at how Labor Day will impact institutions and services around Palatine:
Schools: No classes for District 15 and District 211 schools.

Palatine Public Library District: The district's three locations will be closed.

Postal Service: There will be no mail delivery Monday, and all post offices will be closed.
Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed. Call ahead to be sure.
Trash Pickup: Garbage collection service will be delayed a day because of the holiday.
CTA and Metra: Trains and buses for the transportation agencies will be running on Sunday/holiday schedules.
