Man Dies After Car Slips Off Jack, Crushes Him Underneath: Police
Yeremi Esmayli Perez Castillo was pronounced dead outside his home in the 1900 block of Cambridge Court Saturday, the medical examiner said.
PALATINE, IL — A 36-year-old man died of suffocation Saturday morning after the car he was working under fell off a car jack and landed on top of him, officials said.
Yeremi Esmayli Perez Castillo was pronounced dead outside his home in the 1900 block of Cambridge Court at around 10:50 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Palatine police said a responding officer was able to pull Castillo out from under the vehicle, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

His cause of death was listed as asphyxiation due to compression from the vehicle.
