Man Who Molested 3 Girls In Palatine In '90s Gets 6-Year Sentence

PALATINE, IL — A Wheeling man was sentenced to six years in prison Monday after he was accused of molesting three girls when he lived in Palatine during the 199os. Juan Ortiz, 46, of the 300 block of Inland Drive, pleaded guilty of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in connection with the case, the Daily Herald reports.

He was arrested in January 2017 when the three girls told authorities Ortiz had sexually abused them, the report stated. At the time, the girls were younger than 13 years old, the report added.

Along with the prison term, Ortiz must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, the report stated. He also was credited with 566 days for the amount of days he has been in custody since his arrest last year.
