Palatine Man Dead After Motorcycle Hits SUV Head-On In Elgin
Part of Route 31 in Elgin was closed for more than three hours until just after 9:20 a.m., according to police
ELGIN, IL — A Palatine man is dead after a motorcycle he was driving southbound on Route 31/State Street in Elgin hit an SUV traveling northbound near Wing Street. The Elgin Police Department said at 5:52 a.m., the 49-year-old Palatine man reportedly man crossed the center line and hit a 2005 Honda SUV. That part of Route 31 was closed for more than three hours until just after 9:20 a.m., according to police
The man was critically injured and taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin where he was pronounced dead, police said. Police have not released his name, and said the crash remains under investigation.
