Palatine Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge In Woman's Stabbing
The woman's wound required surgery, and she's expected to recover from her injury, according to Palatine police.

PALATINE, IL — A 45-year-old Palatine man is accused of stabbing a 39-year-old woman in the stomach during a domestic dispute over the weekend, according to police. Nestor Guzman was charged with felony attempted murder stemming from the incident, and he is being held on $500,000 bail, Palatine police said in a statement Tuesday.
The stabbing happened just before 8 a.m. Saturday, June 23, in the outdoor common area of Windhaven Condominiums in the 0-100 block of Dundee Quarter Drive, according to police. Officers responding to the incident found the woman with a single stab wound to her stomach, and paramedics treated her at scene before taking her to Lutheran General Hospital.
The woman told police that she and Guzman had been arguing about their relationship, and the dispute quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. Guzman allegedly attacked the woman, stabbing her as she was leaving for work, according to police.
