PALATINE, IL -- Police arrested a local man on Monday who they say tried luring three young boys into his parked vehicle over the weekend by enticing them with pizza.
Alan Sundberg, 61, of the 200 block of South Rohlwing Road in Palatine, was taken into custody at the Cook County District 3 Courthouse in Rolling Meadows where his bail was set at $50,000. He faces three felony counts each of child abduction and luring a minor — one for each alleged victim.
All charges stem from around 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, when police were called to an area near Sundberg's home for a suspicious incident, according to a police report.

"The responding officers were told three boys, all under the age of 11 years, were playing outside when they were approached by an adult male walking by," said a Palatine police news release. "The adult offered to buy the children pizza and asked them to get into his parked vehicle. After the children declined several requests by the man, he got into his vehicle and left the area."
The three boys saw and remembered the vehicle's license plate number, police said, which allowed authorities to identify Sundberg. Should he post 10 percent of his bail and gain release, he would be required to adhere to GPS monitoring requirements. His next scheduled court date is Feb. 22.
