Palatine Memorial Day Parade, Services Canceled: Village

A virtual Palatine Memorial Day service video will be recorded and shared via the American Legion Post 690 Facebook page Monday, May 25.

PALATINE, IL — The Palatine Memorial Day parade and related events scheduled for Monday have been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Village of Palatine announced Tuesday. However, the Village said that the American Legion Post 690 will prepare a virtual Memorial Day service video to be shared on the Legion Post 690 Facebook page Monday (Memorial Day).

Legion members will record a short service for the video Wednesday afternoon at the Hillside Cemetery, according to the Village. The service will include a traditional gun salute to remember and honor those members of the United States armed services who each paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
