Palatine Votes on Controversial Housing Project, Local Couple Needs Your Help
Catherine Alice Gardens project considered by village council, Weight Loss Challenge, Kids Rule Wednesday and you can help a Palatine couple to win a new roof.
Monday:
The Palatine Village Council is set to vote Monday night on the Catherine Alice Gardens housing development proposed at 345 Eric Drive. Project proponents support the idea of providing housing for people with physical and mental disabilities. Those who oppose it say zoning should not be changed for the high-density residential project that would be located near industrial businesses in the immediate vicinity.A new development at Northwest Highway and Smith Street also will be considered for approval by the village council on Monday.Â

The Palatine Park District offers Kids Rule-Wednesday, August 7. Organized games on the turf and in the gym will be provided from 6pm to 9pm for ages 7 to 13. Prize raffles will be held, and pizza and snacks will be available for purchase.Thursday:Â

A Palatine couple is one of four finalists in the No Roof Left Behind Contest sponsored by Peterson Roofing, Inc. in Mount Prospect. Heather and Scott Thornton were nominated by a friend for the contest, who said, "Some people will never ask for assistance.
