Teen Shot In Leg By Unknown Shooter: Palatine Police
The wounded 19-year-old was being driven to the hospital Tuesday afternoon when Palatine paramedics stepped in, police said.

PALATINE, IL — A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg by an unknown individual Tuesday afternoon, according to Palatine police. The department did not know the victim's condition.
According to police, officers responded to a report of gunshots just before 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, in the 1700 block of North Rose Avenue. While officers were converging on the scene, someone called 911 and told the dispatcher about the teen gunshot victim, who was being taken to a nearby hospital, police said in a statement Tuesday.
The dispatcher told the caller to pull over and wait for paramedics to arrive, police said. The caller complied, and paramedics were able to treat and take the wounded teen to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
