1 Injured In Weekend Shooting In Elgin

The cause of the Saturday night shooting remains under investigation.

ELGIN, IL — Police are investigating a shooting that happened late Saturday night in Elgin.

Officers were called to the 1200 block of Fleetwood Drive at about 12:50 p.m. for the reporting shooting, according to a news release from the Elgin Police Department. When they arrived at the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to a local hospital, police said. An update on his condition was not immediately available.

Police say everyone involved in the shooting knew each other and "have been accounted for," according to the news release.

On October 5th, 2024 at 11:47 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Fleetwood Dr. for a reported shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male with a gunshot wound who was subsequently transported to a local hospital.

"Detectives from the Major Investigations Division are actively investigating the case," police said in the news release. "There is no threat to the public."
