1 Person Hit, Killed By Freight Train In Kane Co.: Police
Authorities have not released the name of the person killed after being hit by a freight train in Rutland Township Tuesday afternoon.
KANE COUNTY, IL — One person was hit and killed by a train in Kane County Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The pedestrian was hit by a CPKC freight train at about 2:50 p.m. Tuesday on the railroad tracks that run east and west and parallel to Big Timber Road at Coombs Road in Rutland Township, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
The incident remains under investigation.
