Police Search For Owner Of Boat Trapped In Fox River Dam
The fire department and police department are trying to locate the owner of a boat found trapped in dam Tuesday morning.

ST. CHARLES, IL — The St. Charles Fire Department was called to the Fox River Dam Tuesday to rescue a boat passenger that ended up in the water. According to a release from the department, fire crews arrived at the dam area by 2 a.m. where they found a boat trapped downstream, but couldn't see anyone in the water. Firefighters used a fire department boat to get to the boat caught in the dam and to search it for possible victims, but no one was found in the boat or water, according to the release.
Crews used a rope attached to the boat to remove it from the dam in order to continue searching for anyone on board, the fire department said. Because crews couldn't find anyone, the St. Charles Police Department is trying to locate the boats owner by using the boat's registration information, according to the release.
The fire department said the incident is being treated as a boat that came loose from its moorings, and moved the boat to the canoe launch at Mount Saint Mary Park.
