St. Charles Man Faces Guns, Weapons Charges
Michael T. Sund was arrested last week after police recovered several guns, including three machine guns.

ST. CHARLES, IL — A 43-year-old St. Charles man faces drug and weapons charges for allegations he had several illegal guns, including machine guns, in his possession as well as various controlled substances.
Michael T. Sund, of the 3N800 block of Trotter Lane in St. Charles, now faces charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a machine gun and unlawful possession of a firearm without a serial number.
At the time of his arrest on Aug. 30, Sund had more than 200 grams of a substance containing psilocybin — a hallucinogenic found in certain types of mushrooms — in his possession on Aug. 30 as well as more than 2,000 grams but less than 5,000 grams of a substance containing marijuana, according to a news release from the St. Charles Police Department.

Authorities also found Sund in possession of a substance containing cocaine and also a substance containing Xanax, according to a news release.
Police also recovered 24 guns from Sund’s house, including 17 unserialized guns and 5,000 rounds of ammunition, various magazines and gun parts. Three of those guns were unserialized machine guns, police said.

Sund is being held in the Kane County Jail and is next expected in court on Friday.
