700,000 Tulips, 30 Varieties, 8 Acres: Kuipers Midwest Tulip Fest Set To Open This Week

MAPLE PARK, IL — The beautiful and vibrant colors of over 700,000 tulips are set to return to Kuipers Family Farm for the highly anticipated Midwest Tulip Fest, opening on April 23, 2025* for the fourth year in a row. Located at 1N318 Watson Road in Maple Park, IL, the farm has expanded this year, planting over 700,000 tulip bulbs across eight acres, featuring 30 different varieties of tulips.

The festival marks the official start of spring, with tulips in full bloom offering the perfect backdrop for families, couples, and friends to celebrate the season. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the blooms, cut and take their own bouquet home while also taking part in fun farm activities, and indulge in a variety of food and drink offerings.

Guests can enjoy a variety of events during the Midwest Tulip Fest, including:

• Date Days/Nights: Stroll among the flowers, pick your own tulips, enjoy live music, and soak in the breathtaking sunsets. A special Adult-Only Date Night will be held on Friday, May 2, 6 to 9 p.m., offering an exclusive, intimate experience.
• Behind the Scenes Tour: Visitors can meet with Joe Kuipers for an exclusive Tulip tour, learn about the blooms, planting and more on Wednesday, May 7 from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.
• Paint and Sip: Join Chelsea McGee studios on Friday, May 9, 2 to 4 p.m. to paint while overlooking the Tulip field.
• Family Fun: Enjoy outdoor farm attractions and activities for kids, while also snacking on delicious food in the tulip fields.
• Friends Day Out: Take the perfect selfies in the tulip fields, sip on an adult cocktail, enjoy food trucks, and more.
