IDOT Worker Dies After Being Pinned At Kendall Facility: Police
The IDOT employee died after police say they were crushed between two large pieces of equipment at the Route 47 facility.
YORKVILLE, IL — An Illinois Department of Transportation employee was killed on Tuesday when police say the worker was crushed between two pieces of equipment at a facility in rural Kendall County.
The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office was called to the IDOT facility in the 8000 block of Route 47 in Kendall Township just after 10:30 a.m., police said. Officers responded to the call of an industrial accident in which the employee was pinned between the two pieces of equipment, police said.
Staff members attempted life-saving measures prior to the deputies’ arrival but the person had died as a result of their injuries. Foul play is not suspected but officials said Tuesday afternoon that the investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
