Oswegoland Park District Board To Discuss Executive Director Role At Upcoming Meeting
Executive Director Tom Betsinger, charged with attempted reckless homicide and aggravated battery, has been placed on administrative leave.
YORKVILLE, IL — The Oswegoland Park District Board is set to appoint an interim executive director while Tom Betsinger, the current title holder, is under investigation for attempted reckless homicide and aggravated battery.
During a regular Board of Commissioners meeting Thursday evening, the Board will appoint a deputy executive director to serve "when the executive director is absent or otherwise unavailable to fulfill their duties." The vote will follow a closed session discussing personnel, according to the agenda.
Betsinger was charged Sunday after Yorkville police alleged he made an "intentional attempt to strike a pedestrian multiple times" before hitting two parked cars in the parking lot of BrightFarms Greenhouse on Corneils Road, Patch reported. The victim said he doesn't know Betsinger and has never met him, according to police.
