Angel Park 5K To Kick Off This Weekend In Perry Hall

PERRY HALL, MD — A race this weekend will benefit Angel Park.

Called the Angel Park 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Run, the event includes two courses.

The 5K starts and finishes at Angel Park, with runners turning right on Honeygo Boulevard, going right again on Forge Road and turning around near Anvil Court. The out-and-back course will conclude at 9650 Honeygo Boulevard.

Organizers say the 1-mile route is an out-and-back course on paved surfaces.

Rain or shine, the Angel Park 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Run will proceed.

Proceeds from the race benefit Angel Park, which opened in October 2016. Built by the community, Angel Park is a storybook-themed playground designed to be the largest and most accessible playground in the Baltimore region for children with special needs. A wheelchair-accessible "shaky bridge," Braille panel, therapeutic swings, 30-foot accessible zip lines and quiet places for children with are among the special features.

Registration is $20 for the fun run; $35 for the 5K for those 11 and up; and $30 for the 5K for those 10 and younger. Participating virtually costs $35 for the 5K and $20 for the 1-mile event. Costs are tax-deductible.

The Angel Park 5K and 1-mile family fun run will be at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7. Participants can park in the parking lots across the street from Angel Park. Police will monitor the crosswalk. The event runs until about 10:30 a.m.
