A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. A plan to complete to the Jericho Covered Bridge at Jerusalem Mill Village in Kingsville will start in late spring 2013. Kevin Sabolcik, chief of structural design for the <a href="http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/Agencies/publicworks/engineering/struc_gen.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Baltimore County Department of Public Works</a>, said restoration of the bridge, which spans Little Gunpowder Falls between Baltimore and Harford counties, could take up to a year. The department has posted a detour, which is attached to this article, that will be in effect during repairs.  Baltimore and Harford county engineers held a seeking public input on the project in December 2011.
