Arlington Ice Cream Shop Permanently Closes

The shop, which rebranded itself two years ago, focused on "bakery-style" ice cream.

ARLINGTON, MA — A local ice cream shop that rebranded itself two years ago has permanently closed. Abilyn's Frozen Bakery in Arlington Center has shut down, Boston Restaurant Talk reported, citing a post on the Arlington List Facebook group.

The ice cream shop was known as the Chilly Cow before owner Brian LeClair turned the trademark over to a large ice cream manufacturer that wanted to make a product called "Chilly Cow." It reopened as Abilyn's in March of 2018.

Abilyn's served frappes, ice cream cakes, cones and cups with a focus on "bakery-style" ice cream. It also added an ice cream cookie sandwich and ice cream cupcakes to the menu after the name change.
