Arlington Plans Lunar New Year Celebration

ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington community members will gather early next month to celebrate the 2023 Lunar New Year, officials recently announced.

The celebration is set for Feb. 2 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Arlington Town Hall at 730 Massachusetts Ave.

The Arlington Human Rights Commission shared plans for the event on Friday, with programming set to include traditional Chinese New Year songs, Chinese musical and dance performances, food and lucky draws.

Arlington’s 2023 Lunar New Year event is free.

Lunar New Year is celebrated throughout many East and Southeast Asian cultures. It usually begins with the arrival of the first new moon of the year, as noted by History.com.
