Arlington Shutting Down All Personal Care Businesses

Health officials are issuing an order to shut down all hair salons, barber shops, nail salons and other similar businesses.

ARLINGTON, MA — Health officials in Arlington are placing restrictions on personal care establishments. This includes hair salons, nail salons, massage parlors, barbershops and tattoo parlors. Closures will remain in effect until April 6.

Presumptive positive cases, as verified by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, remains at five. However, due to limited availability of tests, back ups of test results, and reported confirmed cases in Massachusetts, officials do not believe this is an accurate count of the spread of the virus in the Arlington community. Residents are urged to follow the restrictions and guidance issued by the town and Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Public safety and other essential services will continue with special precautions to keep these employees safe.
