Lynn Man Killed In Cambridge Crash Identified

The crash closed down the area near Harvard Square for several hours earlier this week.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Cambridge Police Department have released the name of the man who was killed in a crash on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge.

Andrew White, 33, of Lynn, was driving a car Dec. 5 when he drove the car through a fence and then into a tree just after 3:3o a.m. near 1270 Mass Ave.

Officers from the Cambridge Police, Harvard University Police and State Police, along with Cambridge Fire and Pro EMS, responded and found White, and a 22 year-old male passenger from Lynn, injured in the crash. Both were transported to hospitals, where White was later pronounced dead. The passenger sustained serious injuries, according to police.

Police are still looking into just what happened. The Salem News reported in 2015 about an Andrew White of Lynn had been arrested several times on driving while under the influence of drugs.
