Fire Strikes Malden Stanton Street Residential Building
The fire grew to at least two-alarms Friday night, according to the Malden Fire Department.
MALDEN, MA — A fire in a Malden residential building drew a sizable emergency response Friday night.
The Malden Fire Department shared word of a two-alarm fire on Stanton Street in a message on social media just before 6 p.m.
Crews were later seen still at work around 7:30 p.m. Though visible flames had been knocked down, numerous emergency vehicles and personnel remained at the fire scene.

Friday’s fire came just a matter of days after a fire broke out Monday night in a multifamily home on John Street in Malden.
Investigators later determined the cause of the Monday fire to be unsafe use of an extension cord that ignited flames after being run through a window along the outside of the home.

The fire on Monday ultimately injured two firefighters and displaced nine residents, officials said.
