Malden Nonprofit Receives Multi-million Dollar Grant From Jeff Bezos: Report

MALDEN, MA — A nonprofit organization received its largest gift ever from one of the world’s richest people, according to a report from The Boston Globe.

Amazon founder and multi-billionaire Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez Bezos gifted $5 million to Housing Families as part of their $102 million donation to more than 30 nonprofits that work to combat homelessness. The donations were given through their nonprofit known as the Day 1 Families Fund.

Housing Families was founded in 1986 and has since expanded their work of providing housing, food assistance, therapy, legal services, and youth programs to 27 communities in the Greater Boston area.
