Dem. Committee Holds Holiday Party For Marlborough Community
The holiday party will assist the Marlborough Community Cupboard.

MARLBOROUGH, MA—The Democratic City Committee is celebrating the holiday season by assisting the Marlborough Community Cupboard, part of United Way of Tri County, and also wants to give the community a chance to meet the democratic officials and candidates for state and national offices.
The annual Holiday Party takes place on Sunday, Nov. 26, from 1-4 p.m. at the Villages at Crane Meadow clubhouse, 7 Canterbury Way, Marlborough.
Tickets are $15 at the door or $10 in advance, and payment must be via check. The City Committee is also asking attendees to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Community Cupboard, and is serving . appetizers and hot and cold drinks.

This year the committee is recognizing and honoring the service of U.S. Rep Niki Tsongas, D-Lowell, who will not be seeking re-election to Congress in 2018. Also invited is U.S. Rep. James McGovern, D-Worcester.
Other invited guests include state legislative office holders state Sen. Jamie Eldridge, D-Acton, state Rep. Danielle Gregoire, D-Marlborough, and state Rep. Carmine Gentile, D-Sudbury, as well as Governor’s Councilor Marilyn Devaney and challenger Nick Carter.

In the race for the Democratic nomination for governor, the Committee has invited Newton Mayor Setti Warren, Jay Gonzalez and Bob Massie, along with candidates for lieutenant governor, Quentin Palfrey and Jimmy Tingle. Also invited are Democratic candidates for the 3rd Congressional District post being vacated by Rep. Tsongas. They are Abhijit Das, Steve Kerrigan, Daniel Koh, state Sen. Barbara L’Italien, state Rep. Juana Matias, Cambridge City Councilman Nadeem Mazen, Terry Ryan and Lori Trahan.
