Marlborough Students Granted Abigail Adams Merit Scholarships

MARLBOROUGH, MA—The Abigail Adams merit scholarship program was created by the state to reward hard work and achievement by Massachusetts students, and to encourage students to go to college at one of our top-notch public higher education institutions.

According to a recent announcement, the scholarship entitles the recipient to four years of free tuition at any University of Massachusetts campus, or any state or community college. Selection of students in the class of 2016 or after is based on outstanding MCAS results; score in the Advanced category on one of three high school state assessment tests in English Language Arts, Mathematics, or STE (Biology, Chemistry, Introductory Physics or Technology/Engineering); score in the Proficient or Advanced category on the remaining two high school state assessment tests; have a combined MCAS score on these assessments that ranks in the top 25 percent in their school district.
