Man Jumped Off Overpass Onto I-93 In Medford: Report

Police said a body found along I-93 early Tuesday morning was due to a man jumping from the overpass onto the highway, reports NBC Boston.

MEDFORD, MA – Police say a body found along I-93 early Tuesday morning was due to a man jumping from the overpass onto the highway and getting struck by one or more cars, reports NBC Boston.

The body was found around 4:30 a.m., state police told the Boston Globe. An investigation closed two southbound lanes near exit 21 at the Somerville line.

The highway fully reopened after 9 a.m., but residual delays were expected.

MassDOT had initially reported the death as "due to a crash investigation involving a fatality."

The man's name was not released, and state police told NBC Boston no further updates are expected.
