Medford "Big Sweep" Is Right Around The Corner
The city's large-scale street sweeping is beginning later this month.
MEDFORD, MA — The Department of Public Works announced the schedule for its annual fall street sweeping later this month.
The “Big Sweep” will begin on Monday, Nov. 17 covering the entire city divided into 14 zones. One zone will be swept each day between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays through Tuesday, Dec. 9. Zone One includes the boundaries between Royal Street to Winter Hill Road, Magoun Square from College Avenue to Main Street. The full zone breakdown can be found online. The city is expected to send out one general call as well as specific calls to residents for dates and times of each zone.
Parking on streets that are being swept is prohibited. According to the city, violators will be subject to parking tickets and possible towing.

The sweeping is conducted to clear fallen leaves and other debris from the roads and water drainage basins.
