Medford Has Plans For Pride Month
The city revealed its agenda for a busy event-filled June celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.

MEDFORD, MA — The city has a busy Pride Month planned with numerous events spread throughout June.
The Medford Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion has partnered with organizations such as the Boston Proud Foundation, Arts Collaborative Medford, Medford Public Schools GSA Club, Gentle Giant Rowing Club, and the Charlotte and William Bloomberg Medford Public Library to put on seven celebrations throughout the coming month.
The festivities begin on Friday, May 30 at 4:30 p.m. with a flag raising ceremony and festival at City Hall. The next day on June 1 Arts Collaborative Medford will host a Pride Pop-up Market at 11 a.m. The events pick back up on Wednesday, June 4 at 6 p.m. with the Teen Drag Makeup Workshop at the Medford Public Library. The library will also host a presentation on the meaning of the Pride Flag on Thursday, June 12 at 5:30 p.m. The library events continue nine days later with a Pride Concert at 4:30 p.m. A Pride Flotilla will sail along the Mystic River at MacDonald Park at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 28.

Throughout the entire month of June, the library’s Art Gallery will host an LGBTQ+ Art Exhibition.
Mayor Breanna Lungo-koehn expressed gratitude to Medford’s DEI Director Frances Nwajei, and was excited for the city’s fourth annual Pride celebration to begin.
