Medford Man Is Lottery Winner After Housekeeper Finds Ticket In Vase

MEDFORD, MA — Sometimes a housekeeper finds loose change in the sofa.

But the housekeeper for Medford's Khalil Soussa found a lot more than a few coins while on the job.

According to reports, the housekeeper discovered a ticket to the Massachusetts State Lottery $15,000,000 Money Maker instant ticket game in a vase in Soussa's home, and it happened to be a $1 million prize winner.

The housekeeper presented the ticket back to Soussa, who had purchased it a few months earlier.

According to Mass Lottery, Soussa has chosen the cash option on his prize, and he will receive a one-time payment of $650,000, before taxes.

Soussa told Masslottery.com that he plans to use some of the winnings to help a friend, while also donating some of the money to charity. Hopefully, he'll also be giving some to his helpful housekeeper.

Soussa purchased his winning ticket at Tony's Convenience Store in Medford, located at 416 Salem St. As a result, the store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale.
